ABOUT ME

Currently, I am the science instructional facilitator (coach) for Sartori Elementary in Renton, Washington. I recently graduated with my PhD from the University of Washington, Seattle in Science Education. I have previously taught bilingual 4th grade as a classroom teacher, served as a PreK-6th grade district science instructional coach, and now teach K-8 science teaching methods to pre-service teachers. I have also written elementary science curriculum guides and facilitated regional professional learning experiences for in-service K-12 science teachers. My current research and professional work focuses on how adult learning experiences, such as instructional coaching, support elementary teacher learning around planning for and facilitating whole-class sense-making discussions in science.
